Acclaimed sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a huge 45-feet high Santa Claus of sand at the Puri Beach in Odisha, India. The statue of Santa Claus, which is made out of 1000 tones of sand including coloured sand, is touted to be the tallest Santa Claus in the whole world so far.

Sudarsan Pattnaik achieved this incredible feat with the help of his 20 students who study at his institute, Sudarsan Sand Art Insitute Of Puri. It took the team a total of 22 hours sprawled over two days to get this sand Santa Claus ready for Christmas Eve.

Pattnaik, who in the past has made some note worthy sand art including 20 feet high twin Santa Claus statues last year, is hoping to make a world record this time with his 45-feet tall and 75- feet wide red and white sand Santa Claus. Interestingly, this Santa Claus comes with a message ‘World Peace’ written underneath the structure.

The sand artist himself tweeted about his accomplishment and has already approached Limca Book Of Records.
